Life at WCMC Life Groups
What is a Life Group? A Life Group is an informal gathering, in a home or at the church. The focus can be anything from a Bible topic, personal or family issues, or a common interest. It is a place where relationships are developed with others and with God. What happens? A typical meeting includes a time for worship, Bible study, sharing needs, prayer and fellowship. How do I get involved? Most groups welcome new people at any time. Following is a list of small groups that are currently being run by members of WCMC. Sunday 6:30-8:30 PM (every second week) This very interactive group with great fellowship is led by Chris and Alison Gatten and held in their home 228 Fennel St. Plattsville. Will be studying "Dream to Destiny. They will begin on September 27. Sunday 6:30-8:30 PM A group led and hosted by Shawn and Jen Good at their home 16 Apollo Drive, Heidleburg. Topic is still to be decided, but they will be focusing on building community, accountability and discipleship. Begins September 27.Sunday 4:00-6:00 PM Growing in discipleship through experience, service and understanding. A study for Senior Youth, led by Andrew & Krista Mills at the church. Begins October 4. Sunday 4:00 - 6:30 pm (ervery second week) A group especially for families with young children. A place for sharing, prayer, fellowship and a pot-luck meal. Children are welcome. Led by Quentin & Shawna Klaver and rotating to various houses. Will be studying “Faith begins at home” by Mark Holmen. Begins September 20Sunday 7:30 PM (every second week) This group will be studying "Breaking Intimidation" by John Bevere. This study exposes the root of intimidation, challenges you to break its fearful grip and teaches you to release God's gifts and establish His dominion in your life. You'll discover your place and authority as a believer. Led and hosted by Rick & Betty Braze, 2202 Bleams Road, Shingletown. Begins September 20. Sunday 7:00 - 9:00 PM (every second week) This group is led and hosted by Randy and Chris Lichti at their home 1619 Diamond Road, New Hamburg. They will be studying a video series on "Finances" for the first three weeks. They begin on September 20. Sunday 3:00-4:30 pm (every second week) Led and hosted by Steve and Tricia Preston, "The Discovery" will focus on learning to discover God in everyday life and then express it through the arts. Includes photography, painting, dance etc. Begins September 27. Monday 7:00-9:00 PM (every second week) Men of Integrity, a men's bible study packed with powerful principles. Led and hosted by Jim Harris 63 Daimler Drive, Kitchener. Will be studying "Downpour" by James McDonald. Begins September 14. Monday 7:30 PM Ladies Bible Study, "Jesus the One and Only" by Beth Moore. Led by Pat McIntyre and held at the church. Begins September 14. Wednesday 7:30-9:00 PM This well attended Life Group is led by Pastor Don Mills and is held at the parsonage at 2351 Sandhills Rd (next to the church). We will be studying "Breaking Intimiadation" by John Bevere. Begins September 16. Wednesday 7:30 -9:30 PM (1st & 3rd Wednesday) Our desire is to grow deeper in God. This well- established group enjoys great fellowship. It is led by John & Martha Huber and held at the home of Elva Fried, 1693 Huron Road, Petersburg. Begins September 16. Wednesday 7:30 PM Intercessory prayer in action. Led by Leon Bender and held here at the church, the focus of this group is prayer and intercession. Open for anyone to attend. Wednesday 6:30 PM The Alpha Course. An eleven week introduction to Christianity where you will learn, grow spirityally and make new friends. It is a way to introduce relatives, friends and neighbours to our church and to Jesus Christ. This year will also include the Beta Course and the Alpha Marriage Course. It is held at the church and begins September 16 with an introductory dinner. Wednesday 9:30 AM Ladies Bible Study, "Jesus the One and Only" by Beth Moore. Led by Pat McIntyre and held at the church. Begins September 16. Thursday 10:00 AM Ladies Fit Break. Sessions will be held at the church. We will incorporate Strength and Cardio into one package. You will work at your own level of ability. Bring your own mat. Begins Septembe 17. Fri 7:30-9 PM (every second week) Led by Corey & Becky Shantz and held at their home 1308 Queen's Bush Road in Wellesley. "Life after Baby": Guidance and support for parenting your baby while maintaining a healthy marriage and family environment. We welcome all parents with babies and soon-to-arrive babies who would like to learn how to teach your baby good sleeping, eating and playing habits from the very beginning that make parenting a joy and a healthy family experience.
